About Me

Hi, I'm Hanif — a freelance illustrator and hobbyist based in Indonesia. I’ve loved drawing since I was a child, mostly using traditional tools like pencil and paper. In 2009, I tried digital art and practiced it until I had to pause for a while due to health issues. In 2014, I returned my focus to traditional art—sketching, inking, and especially watercolor, which I still enjoy today. And I began exploring various traditional media, like gouache, poster paint, acrylic paint, alcohol marker, acrylic marker, soft oil pastel, etc.Nowadays, I work a full-time office job and dedicate my weekends to art. I’m active in several local art communities — artist groups, urban sketchers, youth circles, and small business networks. I participate in events and creative markets, often joining community booths to sell handmade merch like art prints and crafts.Though art is a part-time passion, it’s always been a full-time love. Thanks for stopping by and getting to know me better!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What kind of art do you make?
I mostly create watercolor illustrations, with a focus on chibi characters and floral themes. I enjoy mixing softness, cuteness, and expressive details in my work.
2. Are you a full-time artist?
Not currently. I work a full-time office job during weekdays, and I dedicate my weekends to art and creative activities.
3. When did you start drawing?
I’ve loved drawing since I was a kid — as early as I could hold a pencil! I started digital art in 2009, and later explored traditional media more deeply after 2014.
4. Do you have a background in art education?
No, I’m a self-taught artist. I started learning from personal interest and practice. Later on, when I had the means, I took some basic online classes to improve my skills.
5. What tools and materials do you use?
For traditional art, I use watercolors (mostly Mijello, Holbein, Schmincke, White Nights, and more), various brushes, and Baohong hotpressed paper or Canson Montval coldpressed paper. For line art, I use fineliners and fountain pens. You can go here Art Material Recommendation for my art supplies and some recommendation. You can keep it in wishlist or buy directly according to your needs and budget.

Yes, I do! You can check out the Commission page for info about custom artwork and live sketching services.

Yes! I sometimes sell art prints and handmade merch at local events and creative markets. You can also find shop links on this site when available.
8. Do you join events or art markets?
Yes — I often join community events, art booths, or creative pop-ups, either solo or with artist circles and communities. Follow me on Instagram for updates!
